Bird watching in Frederiksdorp (Suriname πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡·)

Collection of pictures from Suriname

A short, but interesting boat tour brought us from the capital Paramaribo further out to explore the historic plantations of Commewijne. After seeing a few dolphins along the way we arrived in Frederiksdorp, a beautiful oasis on the grounds of a former police post from a coffee and cocoa plantation. The colonial architecture from the city continued here as well, with well-preserved buildings, now serving as lodging.

This was a great first place to practice our bird photography skills, which kind of became a recurring thing on our next stops.
