Weeknotes no.8 – 60 billion!

how are we feeling about Cursor moving to Space xAI?
while i have not tested every AI coding agent out there, Cursor has been my favorite in the recent months.
you can really feel the solid foundations the team laid early on. they made such progress from simple tab-to-complete to the current full (cloud) agent capabilities.
just recently they finished the acquisition to Space xAI for $60B in stock. 60B!
but Cursor now belonging to the big elon corp, is that a good thing? it’s a weird toxic relationship, where the product is sooo good, but the overall structure? hmmm…
aside from that, the Cursor team has launched so many cool things that are all so well integrated, which i have not seen from other agent platforms yet.
given the github downtime, the launch of Cursor Origin , their codebase solution, couldn’t have come at a better time. while the feature set is limited, i am sure this is just the beginning.

also, grok bot , despite being in early beta works surprisingly well. the little animations and creating bots with instructions and personalities make it rather nice to use.
it’s a welcome contrast to the more techy (while still useful) tools like Hermes
.
overall though, all these platforms still feel early. there are so many open questions and problems (access tokens, security, vendor portability, etc.).
luckily, with this fast-moving tech bubble, all will be different in a week.
keep shipping things! 🚀
